The Human Genome Center of the Institute of Medical Research of the
University of Tokyo
headed by Professor Takagi selected IF/Prolog as part of its
research infrastructure.
The research centre ranks among the leading in the world
and is funded by the Japanese Government and The University
of Tokyo.
IF/Prolog was deployed on two Silicon Graphics Origin
supercomputers, with system integration done by a
company of C.Itoh in cooperation with Hitachi.
According to Silicon Graphics this is the largest SGI
machine in Japan and one of biggest world wide.
This installation follows a large deployment of IF/Prolog
on servers by Sun Microsystems delivered by Fujitsu.
The research goal is to map the human genome.
