Network-wide Management

MINERVA superseeded IF/Prolog. Please see http://www.ifcomputer.co.jp/MINERVA for details.

We discontinued to sell IF/Prolog Dec 31. 2003. For current customers, we continue to provide professional support for IF/Prolog until Dec 31, 2008.

Siemens Nixdorf offers with TransView a comprehensive and flexible concept for providing convenient network, system and application management products/solutions for use in complex networks. Due to its flexible open architecture, which also supports important market relevant standards, for example SAP R/3, Transview is well suited for managing heterogeneous, open and distributed systems.

The management itself is based on the concept of interaction between manager and agent. A manager communicates with one or more agents, to request information or influence the activities.

The main elements of TransView are the:

- TransView Control Center integration platform
- management platforms
- management applications to solve easy and complex managment tasks
- management application platform with a toolkit to produce management applications.
- powerful management agents
- TransView Event Center

The TransView Event Center is the part of the system that processes error-management. It comprises many event correlators in individual network-segments, that are configured through a central Event Configurer. The monitoring of the network through the correlation is rule-based and implemented in IF/Prolog which is excellent for modelling complex dynamic situations.
