インタプリタのレベルでは、以下のように入力すればインタプリタから抜け出ることができます。
?- end.
あるいは
?- bye.
あるいは
?- end_of_file.
あるいは
?- ＜CTRL D＞ あるいは ?- ＜CTRL Z＞ （システムに拠ります）
重要事項：IF/Prolog を抜け出ると、まだセーブしていないデータベース内の変更はすべて失われてしまいます（前章"ファイルの入/出力"とレファレンスマニュアルのtell/1及びsave_system/1の項をご参照下さい）｡
以下のようにendやbyeも、プログラム中で指令として使うことができます。
:- write(' consult ended\n'), end.
あるいは
:- bye.
