The distribution kit of Prolog consists of two 1.44 MB HD diskettes.
For the Windows 3.x versions only,
three additional diskettes contain the Win32S runtime system.
Attention:
If you install IF/Prolog under Windows 3.x, then you have to install
Win32S first.
For that read paragraph Installing Win32S for Windows 3.x first.
Installing the IF/Prolog system
To install the IF/Prolog system, please proceed as follows:
- Put Disk 1 of the distribution kit into your diskette drive.
- Activate the installation program setup.exe on Disk 1.
This may be done by activating the diskette drive in your file
manager or explorer and then double clicking on setup.exe.
- You will be asked, in which directory your IF/Prolog shall be
installed.
This directory will be your PROROOT directory.
- Then you will be asked for the name of a program group.
You can either select an existing program group from the
list shown, or choose your own group name, or select the default.
- When the installation is complete
you should open your PROROOT directory
and check if the following subdirectories exist:
..\bin
..\c
..\demo
..\prolib
Additionally, a file named key should exist in the PROROOT
directory. It holds your personal license information.
The proroot information will be set automatically into your autoexec.bat resp. config.sys file.
