IF/Prolog V5.1 has been released. Customers with maintenance are of course entitled to this version as part of their support package.

Important new developments are:

Internet Applications -

IF/Prolog can now be embedded into applications which interact with the internet. Internet socket support allows the programmer to establish connections with Java clients and develop inteligent services for the internet.

Client-Server Applications -

The comprehensive socket support also enables the easier development of more traditional client-server applications. Builtin predicates support the polling of multiple I/O streams, which may be overlayed across socket connections, enabling transactions to be passed easily between several clients and a server.

Application Profiling -

The new profiler determines how much time is spent in each predicate during your prgams execution. The profiler can be used to profile both entire applications and individual goals.

Constraint Technology Package -

The Constraint Technology Package has been extended with numerous new predicates providing further global and dynamic constraints.
