January 1996 Tokyo Metropolitan University added IF/Prolog on an IBM SP-2 parallel computer to its existing range of IF/Prolog on Sun, DEC and others.
According to IBM, this machine is the largest SP-2 installation in a university in Japan, with 60 CPU nodes of 128 to 512 MegaBytes main memory each. The machine provides computing power for approx. 1000 users and serves both research and education.
At Tokyo Metropolitan University, IF/Prolog is used for research in chemistry, precision engineering, architecture and for undergraduate education in computer science.
