| The 11th International Conference on Applications of Prolog was
held in Tokyo September 14-16, 1998
after a tight schedule of three days, 11 sessions
and workshops, 41 presented papers, 8 exhibiting companies and
organizations, John Fox' invited talk and an unknown number of
individual discussions all in a one-track conference.
Invited talk of Prof. John Fox on "Lessons from Medicine" demonstrated
how and where intelligent diagnostic assistants will be deployed
in future medicine.
Sessions on information mediation, parallel programming system KLIC,
optimization and simulation with constraints, constraint programming,
medical systems, legal expert systems, industrial information systems
were received well and sparked intensive discussions.
